Public transport and service traffic are a necessary building block in society. It takes us from A to B when we need it. But societies are evolving, and then so must traffic. Our world-leading telematics systems secure public transport for the cities of the future.
About Consat Telematics
Public transportation is a growing field with an increasing number of cities investing in their infrastructure in order to improve accessibility for their citizens, as well as improve the environment by reducing the number of vehicles on the roads.
Consat is a family-owned company which has been around since the mid 80’s. We have worked with public transportation since the late 80’s, with our first reference being the tramways system in the lovely city of Gothenburg, where Consat is still based to this day. Since then, we have grown in size and customer base, and we have become the leading Nordic supplier of public transport systems.
We offer turnkey solutions designed and produced in Sweden, and supported with the assistance of our local teams around the world for a quick and on-site presence.
Our core business is to develop, deploy and maintain a state-of-the-art public transit system for vehicle manufacturers, public transport operators (PTO), public transport authorities (PTA) as well as passengers using the transit service.
We believe in the importance of public transportation and electrification in improving our society and the environment. We see ourselves as part of the solution in the transition towards Smart Cities and a greener world. We do that together with our fantastic customers, our lovely colleagues and our great suppliers. We find it fun, we take pride in our work, and we hope we can share our enthusiasm with as many as possible.
We strongly believe we, and our customers, can learn from each other and we have implemented that principle by an agile DevOps organisation. This means we have 1 system with 15 releases a year, offering a great flexibility to our many customers. Our smallest customers can benefit from the functionalities and improvements made to our largest customers. Our largest customers also benefit from the efficiency resulting from deploying the smallest systems.
We also believe in local presences. Whatever can be done locally, should be done locally, which has resulted in a vast network of subsidiaries managing support, installs and project management locally.
We started in 1989 under the harsh climate of the Swedish west coast, moved onward to the vast wilderness of Canada in 2007 to then reach the impressive Norwegian fjords in 2012. Five years later, we landed on the warm Australian beaches. Our latest addition has been amongst the colourful tulip fields of the Netherlands and we hope we can add many more breath-taking locations to our list.
